Governance That Fits

Building Governance That Works in Practice
At a PE-backed national construction, infrastructure and property services group with a turnover of c.£450m, PCL's founder built and led the in-house legal and governance function from the ground up, starting as sole senior legal advisor and serving as the Group General Counsel and Acting Company Secretary. This included board governance, risk management, company secretarial matters, enterprise-wide governance frameworks and compliance programmes — covering, amongst other areas, data protection, cyber risk and anti-slavery — across a complex multi-disciplinary group. The result was a governance framework that kept pace with rapid organisational growth and increasing complexity, without the cost of a large legal or governance team.
